Paint Correction & Polishing in Chilliwack
Cut polishing that removes swirls, oxidation and much of the lighter scratching in older paint — and an honest answer about what will not come out.
What polishing can and cannot fix
Most of what makes older paint look tired is not dirt, it is damage in the clear coat: swirl marks from brushes and bad wash technique, oxidation from years of sun, and fine scratching. Cut polishing levels that back down and the gloss returns.
What it will not do is fill a deep scratch you can catch a fingernail in, or bring back paint that has failed through to primer. We would rather say that at the counter than after you have paid for it.
Where it matters most
Before a coating goes on, because a coating locks in whatever is underneath it. Before a sale or a lease return, because gloss is what buyers read as ‘looked after’. And on older vehicles that are worth keeping — one long-standing customer wrote that their 1968 Oldsmobile convertible was waxed and polished here and “looks showroom new again”.

What it costs
Cut and polish starts at $450. How far it goes — a single refinement step or a full multi-step correction — depends on the paint, and that is quoted on the vehicle. Prices are before tax. Dog hair, scratches, oxidation, road tar, fallout, tree sap and excessive dirt carry an additional charge. See paint correction prices.
FAQ
Questions we get asked.
Will polishing remove my scratch?
If you cannot catch a fingernail in it, usually most of the way. If you can, it is into the paint rather than the clear coat, and polishing will improve how it catches light but not erase it. Send a photo and we will tell you which one you have.
Is polishing bad for the paint?
Done properly and not endlessly, no — it removes a very small amount of clear coat. Done badly or too often, yes. That judgement is most of what you are paying for.
Should I polish before a ceramic coating?
Yes. A coating seals in whatever the paint looks like on the day it goes on, swirls included. Correcting first is the difference between protecting a good finish and preserving a tired one.
